I am currently 6 months pregnant with my 3rd boy. I was driving home from work today, and what a drive home it was. I was driving on I-75 right around exit 193. I had a red Toyota Echo behind me, and an older silver car in front of me. We were doing about 55 because it was raining so hard, you couldn't see anything. The Toyota behind me decided we weren't driving fast enough so he SQUEEZED in between me and the car in front of me, causing me to nearly rear end him. I immidiately slammed on breaks and got into the right lane. After driving in the right lane for about a minute, I went back into the left lane, behind the red Toyota. He immidiately, without warning, or any reason at all, slammed on his breaks, dropping the speed from about 65 mph to 40. I thought he was trying to get me to stop completely. I had enough... so i went into the right lane and stayed there until I reached my exit of 182. As I was approaching my exit the Toyota cut me off again, cutting in front of me and causing me to once again nearly rear ending him. I called my local police department, but they said there was nothing they could do to help me.

bhskittykatt It's called a swoop and squat. It usually involves two drivers: one to box you in and one slamming on his breaks, though sometimes it's just one guy slamming on the breaks. They try and get you to rear-end the car so they can get the insurance $$$.

nurv45 have you ever seen the Allstate commercial with Dennis Haysbert, in which it's a commercial about drivers who purposely slam on their breaks hoping you would rear end them? I can't say this is what would have happened to you, but they do it just to collect on the insurance.
